ABOUT US
Bombala Youth Booth Inc. is the heartfelt creation of Jackie Mellon, supported by her sister Nicole Mellon. Together, they turned their vision into reality, drawing from their own life experiences and an unwavering passion to support their community.
The idea for Bombala Youth Booth Inc. came to life when Nicole moved to Delegate, and Jackie, along with her five children, visited. Wondering what activities existed for kids in the area, Jackie asked the question, “What is there for the kids to do here?” The response from everyone was simple yet disheartening: “Nothing.”
At the time, Jackie was studying her Certificate III in Community Services while living in Nowra, NSW—a community facing its own challenges. However, in Delegate and Bombala, the lack of services for youth was equally apparent, with no one actively working to fix the problem. Driven by this need, Jackie and Nicole knew they had to take action, and Bombala Youth Booth Inc. was born.
What We Offer
With the help of the local community and a shared determination to make a difference, Bombala Youth Booth Inc. has created a safe, supervised, drug-and-alcohol-free space for Youth aged 10 to 19 to connect, relax, and thrive.
Here, young people can:
- Find relief from the everyday stresses of home, school, or life in general.
- Discover interests they might not have explored before.
- Build friendships with people they might not normally associate with.
- Develop life skills, try new things, and grow into thoughtful, supportive individuals.
- Learn the joy of helping others and being appreciated for their contributions.
Community Impact
The centre actively adapts its offerings based on the interests of its participants, ensuring activities resonate with the Youth it serves. In addition to programs at the facility, Bombala Youth Booth Inc. also plans community events designed to bring families together, promote inclusivity, and create lasting memories for everyone involved.

Our Ongoing Story
Bombala Youth Booth Inc. has officially flourished, and we’re thrilled to reflect on the celebration of our first birthday in December 2024! This milestone marked an incredible journey, and we’re overjoyed with the results so far—an impressive 54% of Young people in the area have visited or regularly attend our facility.
While we offer plenty of engaging activities, we always prioritize hearing directly from our Youth. To encourage their input, our walls are covered with whiteboards where they can share their ideas and suggestions. However, we understand that sometimes a little extra encouragement goes a long way, so we make it a point to prompt and involve them in shaping our programs.
For those aged 10 to 19yrs who haven’t visited yet, we warmly invite you to come along and discover everything we have to offer. It’s a space created with you in mind—a place to relax, have fun, and explore new opportunities in a supportive and inclusive environment.
